The Lord Has Called His Princess Home

P1010234On Tuesday, November 3 the Lord called His princess Raphaelly home at the tender age of 5.  We mourn our loss, but know that Rapha is in a better place.  After nearly 17 months of battling leukemia, she is finally in a place of no more suffering, no more pain and no more tears.  She now knows the total peace that we all long for.  Please be praying for our entire church family but especially her grandparents, Adesia & Carlinhos, her aunt, Tati, and her parents, Tais and David.

Dear Friends

First of all, I want to apologize for the delay on this letter.

I am very excited to give some updates about the Mota’s family and ministry as well.

Our family is doing pretty good.  I am still going to the doctor for tests to keep track of my health.  I feel totally recovered, and I have been really busy with the kids and ministry.

Daniel was having bad allergies but he is doing better know.  He is in fourth grade trying to adjust with the new demand of homework, etc.   Sofia is doing very well.  She has bundles of energy all the time, which sometimes makes me feel so young, but other times I feel very old.  It is a funny feeling.

We have a new member of the family, a dog named Bowie, he is one-year old.   As you might expect it is definitely more work, but it is worth it to see the kids enjoy him so much.

NEWS ON THE MINISTRY

Searching For God

We met Selma who is married, with 4 children.  Yslaine 15, Ingrid 14 and Cicero 11, they live in Pro Morar.   Her husband is an alcoholic.  To make money they sell things at the stop light.  The children were helping them do this for awhile, but for security reasons Selma doesn’t let them do this anymore.

The children enjoy going to school, but school is very difficult for Cicero, the youngest, because he has down syndrome. The mom takes care of them very well, she does her best.

Selma is not a believer but she let the children participate in RM activities.  The kids enjoyed it so much that they started to ask us to visit their house and pray with their family.  Selma has kindly opened her home to us.  She is so gentle all the time that it makes us feel comfortable with her and her family.

They live in a very simple, small place, a cardboard house.  Around her house smells very bad and they have to live with that smell and just get used to it.

On top of all this, she recently had a stroke and it left her whole left-side paralyzed.  Even through this entire situation she keeps praying and wants to know more about Christ.  She even started to tell her friends about Restoration Ministries and encourages them to ask us to visit and pray for them.

Marcelo(voluntier)-Selma-,-

Can you believe that Selma’s situation has changed?

Selma is feeling better, today she is able to walk, Praise the Lord!

She still having a little trouble with her left hand, but she is happy because she is walking and talking.

She got a new place to live, although still in Pro Morar, she is rejoicing because it is a nicer place.

She has a prayer request that is very heavy on her heart, that her husband will stop drinking.

Please pray for Her!!!

Capoeira Ministry

We had a wonderful and blessed event at the main Day Center, where we had lots of children and adults participating.  This has been a blessed ministry and a strong way to reach the kids for Christ!

capoeira

Teens Ministry

In the last event, we had 77 teens participating with us. It was fun and also special to see them start to get interested in hearing about God.

Trips ongoing:

Paulo and Wellington are travelling to the U.S. to visit different places.  So far they are having a good time, the trip has been productive. Wellington has really been enjoying the opportunity to sing at the churches and different meetings that they have participated in.

Tatiane is in the Philippines.  She has been enjoying her time there so far, she was already invited to do the devotional for the group.  There were just two women in the group, the rest were men.

Raphaelly is doing much better, for those that don’t already know, she has a rare type of leukemia.  She was recently in the intensive care unit, in critical condition. She has reacted very well to all the treatment so now she is out of the ICU and in a regular room.  Thanks so much for all your prayers!

We have a new missionary serving with us:

Steve Thompson.  He will be serving with us for one year.  He is involved in our Agita ministry, the teens ministry, teaching English and he will also be running a basketball camp in Sapopemba soon!

Sarah Cole she will be serving with us for  three  months. She is involved in our Agita ministry, the teen minsitry, teaching English and she is leading a girls bible study at the main Day Center.

Upcoming Event :

Children’s Day party on October 10!!!

We will have 420 children at the Day Center for a big party; we will have music, games, skits and a worship time. Please keep praying for this.

Thanks so much for being a part of all of this,

May God continue to bless each one of you.

Have a great day!!

In Him,

Dear Friends

First of all, I want to thank each one of you for your care, and for your friendship to the ministry, my family and to each one of the RM staff members.

I find myself reflecting on how great our Lord is all the time.  This morning was no different as I was praising the Lord for what He has done, how wonderful His love is demonstrated in so many different ways, and how He is in control of all circumstances.  I have some great news to share with you of how the Lord is blessing the people involved with our ministry:

Raphaelly is doing much better, the doctors are considering transferring her from the Intensive Care Unit to a regular room.  She is reacting to the treatment positively, so the doctors are very optimistic.

Paulo and Wellington arrived safely in the USA, where they will be staying until November 10.

Tati left last night for the Philippines in a series of unusual circumstances.  First, she almost missed her plane because she got stuck in traffic on the way to the airport.  Then after arriving she found out that the flight was overbooked.  Luckily, someone didn’t show up so she ended up with a seat. BUT she didn’t have time to tag her bags…I am not kidding it is true…I am praying that her bags arrive safely in the Philippines.  I believe she will have a wonderful experience in her trip in different ways.

Please join us in prayer for Paulo, Wellington and Tati’s trips.

May God bless their time abundantly in many ways.

Dear Friends

Dear friends,

I hope you are doing well.

I have a special prayer request for Raphaelly. She is back to the hospital, at the moment she is at the intensive care, the situation is really delicateded.

For certain reason she is having a reaction by the treatment that she has been submitted. Last night they did some heart test and they  said to her mom that her heart was weak; she has been under a medication for this situation.

For the ones who don’t know Raphaelly it is Tati’s(our coordinated ) nice. She has a rare type of leukemia.

Please keep praying for Raphael and for her family as well.

In Him

Special Events

On September 12 We had a special capoeira event where the children and the youth graduated a different skill level. It was a fun time to see them to do the dance, worshiping God in capoeira style. We had a lot of parents and friends of the students that weren’t Christian and they were able to hear about the love of Jesus.
